Translated Reports

This section collects external research that the community has translated into Traditional Chinese. We pick reports that meet two tests: the subject is internet censorship, surveillance, or anonymity networks, and the findings matter locally to Traditional Chinese readers, for example because a report names a Taiwanese company or analyzes censorship technology from a neighboring country. The translations use Taiwan terminology and add translator's notes and editorial observations where needed.

Translations are maintained in Traditional Chinese (zh-TW) only

For each report below, we link to the original English source and to our Traditional Chinese (zh-TW) translation. Where relevant, the translation adds editorial observations from a Taiwan vantage point, for example on how a report has been received by local media, government, or legislators.

If you read English, the original report is the primary source. The zh-TW translation is intended for Chinese-speaking readers in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and other regions that use Traditional Chinese. Some of the editorial observations may also be useful to international readers who want to understand how a report has been received on the ground in Taiwan. A separate English version of these long-form translations is not maintained.

The Internet Coup

InterSecLab, 2025-09-12. An analysis of a leaked dataset of roughly 500 GB, showing how Geedge Networks (积至公司 / 积至(海南)信息技术有限公司) turned Great Firewall technology into a product, deployed and operated it, and exported it to other countries.

InterSecLab, 2026-04-24. The first in InterSecLab's supply-chain investigation series. It documents how Taiwan-listed ADLINK Technologies (6166) shipped 1,708 CSA-7400 network appliances to Geedge Networks between 2019 and 2020, which were ultimately deployed in Kazakhstan's nation-scale censorship system. ADLINK components were also identified in EtherFabric devices deployed in Myanmar.
