Review: Internet Freedom Workshop: Tor、Tails、OONI

The Tor/Tails and OONI workshops successfully concluded on the afternoon and evening of February 23, 2025. Whether you participated in the entire event or not, we sincerely thank all the partners, volunteers, and the Tor and OONI teams for their involvement! g0v hackath65n, the 65th g0v hackathon

Alongside the workshop on 23 February, we have also signed up for g0v Hackath65n, the 65th hackathon run by g0v, on the day before. Our proposal there starts the 2025 OONI research goals.

There were still a few places left at the time of writing. If our projects interest you and you would like to contribute, come and join us on the day, whatever your background or field.

About g0v

g0v (pronounced "gov zero") is a decentralized civic tech community in Taiwan, formed in 2012, which runs a hackathon roughly every two months. Projects are proposed and worked on openly by whoever turns up, with no membership and no organizational hierarchy. Several widely used Taiwanese civic tech tools started there.

Pre-event - Tor, Tails, OONI

We are thrilled to invite you to a full-day event dedicated to online privacy, censorship circumvention, and censorship monitoring, hosted in partnership with Open Culture Foundation, the Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI), and The Tor Project on February 23rd, 2025, in Taipei, Taiwan.

This free pre-event will feature hands-on workshops and a public keynote by Roger Dingledine, co-founder of The Tor Project.

Thie event will feature:

  • Two hands-on workshops for journalists, activists, and human rights defenders focused on digital security and censorship resistance.
  • A public keynote by Roger Dingledine, co-founder of The Tor Project, on defending online privacy in an era of mass surveillance.

Register for Event

Please register for the sessions you wish to attend by selecting the appropriate type of ticket. Due to venue limitations, some sessions have a cap on the number of participants, so please register early. The exact location of the event will be announced separately closer to the date.

Recruiting Volunteers

We are currently recruiting on-site volunteers for the event and expect to need help from 10 volunteers. If you're available on the day (even if you can't participate the entire time), please register at OCF Volunteer. We plan to begin assigning tasks soon. Thank you!
